All the barrios ( neighborhoods) of Barcelona have their own fiesta and the neighbours are very active in preparing an original program each year. These street celebrations are one of the best ways to mingle with the local people and meet the real life of Barcelona. The first one in this year is Festa Major de Sant Antoni, and it starts this week – on Friday the 13th!
The program includes something for people of all ages – from the traditional ” blessing of the animals” to the popular snail party or contest for the best “tapa tapalgana”.
